Our Red Lake County, Minnesota Highpointing Page

1 area in Southeast Corner of County: 1207+ feet

Introduction

Red Lake County's High Point is in the southeast corner of Section 36 of Lambert Township in the road intersection. I visited there on May 27, 2005, after completing Polk County.

Approaches to the Red Lake County High Point

I came from the south, driving northwest on U.S. Highway 2.
I turned right onto Polk County Road 8 at McIntosh.
I drove north on C.R. 8, and, 1 mile after curving to the east, I continued straight on State Highway 92.
I drove east for 1 mile on S.H. 92 and turned right at the Red Lake-Polk County line.

I drove south on the county line road for 1 mile, and parked at the intersection, which is the extreme southeasterrn corner of Red Lake County.

The Summit

I walked around on the natural ground in this area. The slope of this area was obvious. It was higher as one looked northeast, southwest or southeast, and lower to the northwest.

The Route Out

I
I drove north on County Road 2 into Pennington County, where the road name changed to C.R. 27.
