Our Nobles County, Minnesota Highpointing Page

Unnamed Hill: 1810+ feet

Introduction

Nobles County is one of those counties whose highest point is on the slope of a hill in another county. In this case, the higher ground is in Murray County. It is located along the northern edge of section 5 in Wilmont Township. I visited there on November 13, 2004, after completing Jackson County.

Approaches to Nobles County High Point

I came from I-90 going west. I took the exit for Minnesota State Highway 266 going northwest, then west on County Road 16 to S.H. 91 north, to the county line, then east to the high ground.

Parking

I parked on the end of a "Minimum Maintenance Road". I was not worried about being in the way, but later, when I was trying to back out, a wide tractor came along and had to go around me.

The Trail

I walked along the south side of the road and in the field, covering the highest ground in the county.
