Faribault County is a supercounty, making it higher than any of its neighboring counties. Its highest point is less than a mile from its eastern neighbor, Freeborn County, in section 13 of Kiester Township. I visited there a few minutes after summiting Freeborn County, on November 13, 2004. It was certainly one of the easiest I did that weekend, able to park within a few feet of it.
It being so near Freeborn's HP, it makes sense to do them both. I came from the east on 50th Street, and turned into a service road for the nearby antenna at 0.7 miles from the county line. The service road makes a U-shape, returning to 50th Street.
I parked on the service road within 5 feet of the HP. I took this photo from the downslope, so that it shows the HP:
The summit is a weedy area just south of the service road.
I got back on I-90 West via C.R. 28 and S.H. 22, on my way to the distant Martin County High Point duo.
